Destination: Daxu, Guangxi, China

This ancient village has stood for over 1000 years. I was fortunate enough to explore the hidden Daxu by getting invited inside some of the authentic Chinese (Ming era) architecture. The village of Daxu sits on the Li River and is not far from Guilin in the Guangxi region of China (central south China) The ancient village has blue stone streets that have been aged by pushcarts, footsteps, and rain for over a century. Once a bustling marketplace and dock, the village is now a popular tourist destination. Featuring lots of red hanging lanterns, old world architecture, and narrow streets, it's a wonder to explore on foot. I was fortunate enough to photograph there as part of my travels to Guilin.This is "Courtyard View" the view from a private courtyard in Daxu.
